Cannabis Legalization In Canada: What It Means For CBD?
On October 17, 2018, the Cannabis Act was created in Canada. This Act is designed to legalize marijuana for recreational use while preventing youth from accessing cannabis-based products.
For people who have questioned whether or not should marijuanas be legalized, this Act is also designed to help displace the illegal cannabis market. There will be higher quality and safer products on the market. Serious criminal penalties are set to punish people who attempt to market or sell marijuana or other CBD oil Canada products to minors.
This will be done using guidelines that control:
- The marketing techniques used to sell a product. It cannot target youth.
- Packaging for marijuana and CBD products cannot mention minors.
- Cannabis products cannot be sold in vending machines or self-service machinery.
- The promotion of cannabis. The selling points cannot be something that would entice a minor to purchase and use cannabis.
How Does This Affect CBD Production and Use?
Up until this point in time, CBD products were similarly as illegal as marijuana was. Cbd oil Canada that contained less than 0.3 percent THC were legal for recreational use as long as they were not re-sold. They are considered to be cbd without thc. Any products that contained a THC content of over 0.3 percent could be used for medical purposes.
A prescription was needed in order to possess the product. CBD will now be available like other hemp-based products. It can be used for a host of purposes to help benefit a person’s health and well-being. Import and export laws for CBD will be the same as they are for marijuana now that the Cannabis Act is in place.
Where Can You Legally Obtain CBD and Marijuana in Canada?
Legalized cannabis products (included cbd without thc), can be sold through legal retailers. Products that come from locations in Canada must include an excise stamp. This will prevent any kind of forgery processes from taking place.
Every different province and territory in Canada will have a different color of stamp. Mandatory health warnings will be included on all packages as well. If you are looking for an edible product, these products will not be legal or available until one full year has gone by after the Cannabis Act was passed.
If you live in Canada and are looking to obtain CBD products or marijuana-based products, you can now do so legally and without a prescription. You just want to make sure that you are buying your products from a reputable seller. This is always an important factor when using CBD. It is important that you know the concentration, where the product is made, how it is made and whether or not it is through a legal vendor. This protects your safety from a legal standpoint but also a health standpoint.
