Why add peppermint to CBD oil?

Peppermint is widely used to help settle the stomach, support healthy digestion, and freshen breath. Researchers have found dried peppermint in pyramids, some dating back to 1,000 B.C. Since those times, it has been used by many civilizations, in both culinary and medicinal settings. More modernly, in the 1700s, peppermint was widely cultivated in England, which further propelled its popularity and use.

Adding Peppermint to a MCT-based CBD oil is an easy way to incorporate many of those same benefits and uses. It’s worth noting that our Stomach Soother CBD Oil is also 1000mg/bottle (vs. 500mg of our plain CBD Oil).

What is MCT Oil?

The base of our CBD Tinctures are what’s known as MCTs. MCT’s are “medium-chain triglycerides”, which ares most commonly extracted from Coconut Oil, as 50% of the fat in coconut oil comes from MCTs.

Both coconut oil and MCT oil have many potential health benefits, but they are not the same. Often confused as interchangeable ingredients, chemically speaking coconut oil is made up of both LCTs (long-chain triglycerides) and MCTs fats, while MCT oil only contains medium-chain triglycerides. MCTs behave differently in the body compared to LCTs, and may increase overall energy expenditure, which is why we use this as the base in our CBD oil.

When should I use Stomach Soother?

Our Peppermint CBD Oil is incredibly versatile, and you can use it at home or on the go. Personally, we love to add it to teas to heighten the level of CBD and give your tea some extra peppermint flavor. This also makes an amazing addition to our Chocodelic Trip CBD Cocoa for a unique peppermint twist. If adding it to something isn’t your style, we recommend simply taking it under your tongue, just like a regular CBD oil.
