Clovis Zoo Animals Benefit From Taking CBD Oil
Summarize
Sam and Rachel Viscaino founded a cannabis farm in Portales, New Mexico, to meet people’s needs. Recently, the company partnered with Clovis Zoo in Clovis, New Mexico, to provide CBD for some of the zoo’s animals experiencing common conditions associated with aging.
The Viscainos have spent 16 years developing customized products for people. Rachel Viscaino asks a customer which symptom they are seeking relief for, and the couple points them to the strain or product they believe may help. The choice of terpenes and CBD is important for targeting specific needs. Recently, the company partnered with Clovis Zoo to provide CBD for animals experiencing health conditions, related to the typical symptoms of aging, like reduced energy, to improve their quality of life.
One of the zoo animals receiving CBD is a 15-year-old tiger named Sooner. Sooner has been taking harsh medicines that can eventually harm the liver. Another animal taking CBD is Katie the Timberwolf, also 15 years old. Timberwolves usually live 6 to 8 years, so Katie has lived almost twice the average lifespan.
After taking CBD, Sooner and Katie are now off their medications, except for bone health vitamins. Both animals are benefiting from CBD oil and are experiencing a better quality of life. The Director of the Clovis Zoo, Stephanie Chavez, described the effects of CBD oil on the animals.
“You see her [Katie] a little bit more active and her eyes are a lot more bright when it comes to sooner. He’s [Sooner] a whole different cat, and he’s jumping. He’s playing. You see him in his box. It is cool. He’s training now, which is absolutely amazing. Now we have target training.”
Clovis Zoo is evaluating whether other senior animals could benefit from CBD oil. The zookeepers appreciate Sam and Rachel’s caring concern for the zoo animals with health issues. The Viscainos are generous, giving CBD treats to families caring for pets, as well as to local shelters. The couple has a deeply held belief in helping humans and animals. The Zoo staff praise their willingness to help ailing zoo animals.
CBD oil for pets is a fast-growing CBD product line as people look for natural alternatives to drugs, and there is increasing veterinarian acceptance. Continued research into the benefits of CBD will continue to fuel growth and encourage people to try a natural alternative to drugs when their pets are in discomfort.
